The hosting provider also generates technical server access logs for the same security purpose.
This website uses no analytics, tracking or behavioural advertising tools, and does not build profiles of its visitors.
3. Why we process your data and on what legal basis
Each purpose has its own legal basis and its own retention period:
| Purpose | Legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Handling your quote request, contacting you and providing an offer | Steps taken at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR). We do not ask for your consent for this: it is what is needed in order to reply to you. | While your request is being handled and, thereafter, for up to 5 years, the general limitation period for personal actions (art. 1964 of the Spanish Civil Code). |

| Preventing automated and abusive form submissions, and keeping the site secure | The controller’s legitimate interest in protecting its systems and preventing fraud (art. 6.1.f GDPR). | Twelve months. |
| Complying with legal, accounting and tax obligations | Compliance with a legal obligation (art. 6.1.c GDPR). | The periods set by each rule: 4 years for tax matters and 6 years for commercial matters. |
4. Consent to receive advertising is free and separate
The box for receiving commercial communications is separate and optional. Leaving it unticked in no way prevents us from handling your quote request, nor does it worsen the terms offered to you.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by writing to info@rentacariq.com or using the unsubscribe link included in every communication. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
Only the providers who deliver services to us and act as data processors have access to it, under a contract binding them in accordance with article 28 of the GDPR:
- Hostinger International Ltd., web hosting and email provider, with servers in the Union Europea.
Disclosures required by law
Your data may be disclosed to public authorities, courts and law enforcement bodies where there is a legal obligation to do so, for example in tax matters or following the report of a traffic offence.
6. International transfers
We carry out no international data transfers in order to handle your request.
However, this site loads fonts and icons from third-party servers (Google Fonts and a content delivery network). In doing so, your IP address is disclosed to those providers, which may be located outside the European Economic Area. These transfers rely on the safeguards set out in chapter V of the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the applicable adequacy decisions. You can avoid them by blocking those domains in your browser, although the site will then be displayed with a different typeface.
7. Your rights
As the data subject, the law grants you the following rights:
- Access: to know what data of yours we process.
- Rectification: to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure: to ask us to delete data when it is no longer necessary.
- Objection: to object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
- Restriction: to ask us to keep the data but stop using it while a claim is resolved.
- Portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Withdrawal of consent given for commercial communications, at any time.
8. How to exercise them and where to complain
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@rentacariq.com or to Calle Valencia 1, ent D, 30510 Yecla (Murcia), España, stating the right you are exercising and enclosing a copy of your identity document or any other means of proving your identity. Exercising these rights is free of charge and we will reply within a maximum of one month.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency, C/ Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid, or through its electronic office at www.aepd.es.
9. Information security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption of communications via HTTPS, access control to the management panel through individual credentials, storage of credentials outside the application code, and restriction of data access to staff who need it.
No system is infallible: should a security breach occur that poses a high risk to your rights, we would inform you and notify the supervisory authority within the periods laid down in articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR.
10. Minors
This site is not aimed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data. In addition, entering into a rental contract requires a minimum age of 23.
If we find that we have received data from a child under 14 without the consent of the holder of parental responsibility or guardianship, we will delete it.
11. Automated decisions
We do not take automated decisions or carry out profiling that produces legal effects concerning you or significantly affects you. Every quote request is reviewed by a person.
12. Accuracy of the data
The data you give us must be true and up to date, and you are responsible for its accuracy. If you include another person’s data, for example a second driver, you must have informed them beforehand of the content of this policy and have their consent.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to adapt it to legal changes or new services. The version in force is always the one published here, and its date appears at the foot of the document. If a change materially affects you, we will let you know.
